Location: 39.40255707885806, -76.89497066502422
Parking: Ample
Equestrian Notes: Ample parking in the grass for all types of horse trailers. Would not recommend the single track fishers trail peninsula loop (see cautions below) or shoreline fishers trail as it is close to washed out areas of shoreline with overgrowth and low hanging branches.
Trail Distance: 1.30 - 1.72 miles
Elevation Gain: 89 feet
Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
Tracks: Double to single
Cautions: Peninsula turns in to an island during high water and is inaccessible. Peninsula and shoreline trails are single track fishers trails with washed out areas that can become overgrown.
Description: The Gate 9 trail starts out as a double track trail suitable for all trail users. The peninsula loop (see cautions) is a single track trail around the edge most likely made by fishers. The shoreline trail is also most likely made by fishers and leads back to the boat dock where you can walk back to your vehicle along side the paved drive.
Points of Interest:
- Liberty Reservoir boat dock #2
- Linden Arrowwood can be found bordering the double track trail and has beautiful red berries in the fall.
- Fantastic views of the 26 bridge as well as the Liberty Reservoir Water Treatment plant (orange buoys)
- Fan Clubmoss can be found as you make the single track loop around the end of the peninsula.
