Run the Dam Road participants are welcome to pick up their race packets a few days before the event.

Friends of Liberty Reservoir, in partnership with the Eldersburg Rogue Runners, proudly present the inaugural: Run the Dam Road 5K  

Sunday, October 12th at 9:00 am
Gates open at 8:00 am for packet pick up.

Join us for a scenic 5K run starting at the Liberty Dam, following the rolling hills along Liberty Dam Road toward Wards Chapel before looping back to finish at the Dam. This unique and beautiful course offers a memorable running experience along one of our area's most valued natural landmarks.

About the Event

This event supports the Friends of Liberty Reservoir (FoLR), a nonprofit organization dedicated to maintaining and preserving the trails and environment around Liberty Reservoir. Proceeds will help fund clean-up efforts, awareness campaigns, and trail improvements. This 5K is more than just a race—it's a chance for the community to come together in support of local conservation, health, and fun.

Event Details

Cupless Race: In an effort to reduce waste and protect the reservoir, this will be a cupless event. Water will be available on-site to fill your own bottle or hydration pack.

Registration is limited to 100 participants – sign up early to secure your spot!

All registered runners will receive a bib, a time and a finisher’s medal.

There will be no age group or overall awards.

$30 – Includes race entry and event t-shirt
$20 – Race entry only (no shirt)
T-Shirt Only Option Available – Support the cause even if you can’t attend

Packet Pickup   - TBD

Children under 10 may run with a parent for free (no registration required), but will not receive a shirt, bib, or medal.

Rain or Shine event - no refunds

Right of Entry Permit for the Liberty Dam area is available upon request.

The Carroll County Department of Planning & Land Management has “rebranded” our Environmental Symposium.  The Carroll EnviroFest and High School Recycled Art Contest will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Robert Moton Center in Westminster.  Additional information will be forwarded as it becomes available.
